How to calculate how much Magic Paint you need to paint a surface?

Formula on how to calculate the total area to be painted.

Let’s take this chest of drawers as an example:

H. 0.90 metres x W. 0.70 metres x D. 0.50 metres

In order to identify the surface area we need to think in rectangles so we need to colour side by side.

Upper top: 0.70 x 0.50 metres = 0.35 square metres

Left side: 0.90 x 0.50 metres = 0.45 square metres

Right side: 0.90 x 0.50 metres = 0.45 square metres

Front: 0.90 x 0.70 metres = 0.63 square metres

Total area in square metres to be coloured is : 1.88

This measurement is for one coat of paint.

To paint a piece of furniture you generally need two coats of Magic Paint.

So calculate the result by multiplying it by the number of coats.

1.88 square metres x 2 coats of paint = 3.76 square metres

The yield of a 500 ml can of Magic Paint is about 8/10 square metres.

The yield of a 125 ml Magic Paint can is about 2/3 square metres.

In this case you can buy two 125ml cans or, if you want to save money, one 500ml can.

NOTE:

The yield of the paint depends on the colour chosen and the surface to which it is applied.

For example, if you use Soffio colour on a very dark surface, you will need 3 coats of paint.

The same is true if the surface is raw wood. Obviously, it will be more absorbent, so it will be necessary to apply several coats of paint diluted with water in order to obtain full coverage.

It is also necessary to take into account the type of craftsmanship and the brush used.
